Funding of measures by municipal territorial authorities and other public law corporations "Future Energy Program Municipal Street Lighting (ZEP-municipal LED)"

The Future Energy Program Municipal Street Lighting (ZEP-municipal LED) promotes the modernization of municipal lighting systems in Saarland through the use of highly efficient LED technology. The goal is a noticeable reduction in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions in public spaces. Through the conversion, municipal administrations and public bodies alike benefit from significantly reduced operating costs and actively contribute to climate protection. Applications are accepted continuously until the end of 2027, allowing for flexible project planning. The funding is provided as a grant, covering a substantial portion of the investment costs.

Eligible for funding are all municipal territorial authorities as well as other public law bodies based in Saarland. A prerequisite is the professional planning and implementation of the LED installation in accordance with the guidelines. The program is managed by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of Saarland, which, as the central state authority, drives the energy transition and the increase of energy efficiency.
