Description
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, this program supports model and demonstration projects as well as qualification and information measures for knowledge and technology transfer in sustainable crop production. Funding is provided to companies in primary crop production as demonstration farms, as well as advisory and research institutions based in Germany. With a non-repayable grant of up to 100% of eligible expenses – including personnel costs, travel and material expenses, fees for speakers, as well as capital expenditures for buildings, machinery, equipment, and software – and a maximum limit of €100,000 in investment costs over three fiscal years, the funding enables practical testing and dissemination of innovative cultivation methods. The maximum project duration of 72 months ensures comprehensive testing, evaluation, and optimization of sustainable crop production measures.
Thematic priorities are defined within the framework of separate announcements by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food. Until December 31, 2026, applicants can submit their project outline via the electronic application system easy-Online. Following a positive evaluation, applicants will be invited to submit a detailed project description including a financing plan and proof of professional qualifications. In the selection process, particular weight is given to the degree of innovation and sustainability, practical relevance, transfer potential, as well as the experience of the applicants. The goal is to translate scientific findings into economically viable and environmentally sound cultivation concepts and thus establish sustainable crop production systems permanently in agricultural practice.
