Description
The funding of non-commercial media in the state of Upper Austria supports non-profit organizations with investment and operating expenses for independent media projects. The aim of this measure is to strengthen the establishment and maintenance of non-commercially oriented broadcasting, online, or print offerings based in and broadcasting within Upper Austria. Both investment costs for technical equipment and infrastructure as well as ongoing operating costs such as editorial and administrative expenses are eligible for funding. An informal funding application along with the completed funding declaration FinD/E-2 must be submitted by no later than December 1 of the current year to enable approval as a grant.
Interested independently organized media projects benefit from a direct financial allocation without application fees. A prerequisite is a non-profit sponsoring structure with verifiable non-commercial orientation. As part of the processing, a proper proof of use must be provided, for example in the form of annual financial statements or receipts for salary payments to junior journalists. The basis is the guideline of the Upper Austrian state government for the promotion of public relations and journalist training. With a budgeted volume of around €220,000, a sustainable media landscape in the state of Upper Austria is supported and further developed.
