Description
The promotion of spatial planning activities based on the General Funding Guideline (AFRL) of the Vorarlberg state government supports Vorarlberg municipalities and regional planning communities (Regios) in professionally preparing and implementing their regional development projects. Funded are spatial planning preliminary projects, participation concepts, systemic spatial analyses, data collection in the state interest, pilot and exemplary projects, as well as measures to raise awareness of spatial planning concerns. Funding is provided as an open-ended grant from 01.01.2025 and is aimed at public institutions with approved development concepts (GEK or regREK), at least one full-time position in regional management, and their own office. The decision is based on the resolution by the responsible municipal or regional body, the institutional suitability as a Regio, and the quality of the development concept.
Eligible costs include fees and expenses of external experts, process and surveying costs, model construction, as well as costs for journalistic preparation. Services provided by municipal employees, office supplies, detailed planning for implementation measures, or financing costs are not reimbursed. Funding is granted as a direct subsidy and allows continuous application submission without a deadline. For the application, offers from external experts, the resolution protocol of the responsible body, and the regional development concept must be submitted. After a positive funding commitment, a payment request can be made, detailing the verified costs by fiscal year, receipt number, and payment purpose. The funding recipients agree to the publication of the documentation and thus make a valuable contribution to transparency and the reuse of spatial planning experiences in Vorarlberg.
