Support for Student Dormitories

The state funding in Vorarlberg is aimed at all operators of student residences – from non-profit organizations and public institutions to interest groups and other associations – and provides a targeted grant for ongoing operating expenses. This initiative strengthens both infrastructural and educational aspects in the field of education and training. The funding volume of 0.5 million euros annually supports the maintenance and modernization of residential facilities and helps to keep residence fees socially acceptable. In this way, the measure ensures the long-term existence of high-quality care services for students throughout Vorarlberg.

The allocation is based on an informal, written application submitted to the Department of Early Childhood Education, School and Society (IIa) of the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government. After a positive funding approval, the requested operating costs are covered proportionally. There is no fixed deadline – applications can be submitted continuously since January 1, 2020. Requirements include a formal application and the subsequent submission of a proof of use to ensure transparent use of funds. This straightforward funding structure supports operators in aligning their school infrastructure with future needs and sustainably strengthening Vorarlberg as an educational location.
