Funding of security policy measures and projects

In Styria, security policy measures and projects of high social value are specifically promoted. The program of the Office of the Styrian State Government, State Office Directorate, is aimed at individuals, non-profit organizations, and public institutions engaged in the field of emergency services and disaster protection. With a focus on disaster protection and commitment to social cohesion and democracy, projects are supported that include precautions, preventive measures, training, as well as further education for emergency personnel. Funding is provided in the form of a grant and aims to sustainably strengthen operational capability and resilience on site and to consolidate social cohesion.

Projects of socio-political interest are funded, particularly those that expand the spectrum of emergency services or implement innovative approaches in disaster protection. Eligible for funding are individuals, associations, and institutions that submit a written funding application. Applications can be submitted continuously; the funding opportunity began on January 1, 2019, and there is no deadline. A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is the comprehensibility of the project proposal as well as the review of submitted original invoices with proof of payment. The direct funding measure provides a reliable basis for all project managers who wish to contribute to security and social cohesion in Styria.
