Description
The funding program “Transformation Concepts for Greenhouse Gas-Neutral Production 2045” is aimed at companies and craft enterprises in the manufacturing sector in North Rhine-Westphalia with up to 2,500 employees. The goal is to develop technical and business management concepts that demonstrate pathways to achieving CO₂-neutral production by no later than 2045. The focus is on increasing energy efficiency, electrification, switching to climate-friendly energy sources, sustainable carbon management, and the intelligent use of waste heat. Neutral and independent experts with proven qualifications in industrial or energy sector facilities evaluate process-specific potentials and develop concrete action plans. Based on detailed economic feasibility analyses and CO₂ balance assessments, roadmaps with interim targets are created.
The funding rates depend on company size, amounting to 60% of eligible expenses, and up to 80% for small enterprises; a maximum of €60,000 can be applied for per company. Eligible are services provided by external consultants as well as necessary preliminary investigations and concept developments. A one-time grant per company supports the creation of the concepts until June 30, 2027, or as long as budget funds are available. For the application, a cost estimate, the electronic application form with PIN code, entrepreneur and financing declarations, as well as a confirmation that the company is not in financial difficulty, must be submitted. Timely application submission and adherence to deadlines are prerequisites to secure the grant and thus advance the local energy transition.
