Description
In Austria, there is a permanent funding program for educational institutions that enables courses in basic education/fundamental skills as well as for obtaining the compulsory school leaving certificate free of charge. Eligible to apply are accredited educational providers who participate in the ongoing call tenders at the federal and state levels. Funding is provided as a grant covering 80% to 100% of eligible costs and is based on a cost rate of €100 to €200 per teaching unit. In the program area "Obtaining the compulsory school leaving certificate," the maximum amount per participant is €6,600; for the area of basic education/fundamental skills, framework conditions are defined per learning group and course concept. Applications can be submitted year-round; binding deadlines result from the respective calls of the Federal Ministry of Education.
This funding offer aims to provide adults without sufficient minimum qualifications better access opportunities to the labor market and to strengthen their social integration. The focus is on individuals without a compulsory school leaving certificate, secondary illiteracy, deficits in arithmetic and writing, as well as people with a migration background who wish to expand their basic and fundamental skills. The evaluation of measures is based on criteria such as regional distribution, target group balance, and budget availability. The two-stage structure ensures both quality assurance and efficiency control through monitoring and evaluation. In this way, sustainable learning structures are established that enable participants to acquire essential qualifications and thus open up long-term prospects.
