Description

The Herbert Funke Foundation supports projects and initiatives nationwide that sustainably improve the lives of visually impaired and blind people. As a non-profit foundation, it has been promoting initiatives since 1996 in the fields of health, science & research, as well as art & culture, targeting private individuals, non-profit organizations, and public institutions. Applications can be submitted continuously; however, they must be received at least four weeks before the project start date. The focus is on innovative concepts and non-profit measures that specifically address the needs of the target group and enhance their participation and quality of life.

Eligible applicants are those who submit an informal application along with a detailed cost and financing plan, project description, and schedule. For project funding, cost estimates and, if applicable, written bank references must also be provided. Visually impaired and blind applicants are additionally requested to submit a questionnaire, proof of income, and a current ophthalmological certificate (not older than three months). During the funding period, semi-annual interim reports as well as a final report are mandatory. Expenses for disability-adapted passenger cars are excluded from funding. With its continuous grant offerings, the Herbert Funke Foundation makes an important contribution to equal opportunities and supports sustainable initiatives that keep the common good in mind.
