Funding by the Saar Sports Foundation

The Saar Sports Foundation is committed to excellent athletic achievements and social participation in Saarland and continuously awards grants to promote elite sports, talent development, and inclusion projects. The target group includes athletes in the Olympic squad, supplementary and perspective squads, as well as participants and candidates of international championships. Additionally, clubs, associations, and companies receive support in implementing innovative youth programs. Individual case-based funding enables the sustainable integration of disabled and disadvantaged people into organized sports. Based on binding allocation guidelines, funds are provided in a needs-based and transparent manner.

Eligible for funding are private individuals, non-profit organizations, and companies based in Saarland who can prove their membership in the Olympic squad or supplementary or perspective squads, or who participate in international competitions or qualify as candidates. The range of funding extends from regular funding to project-related grants and tiered bonuses for medal successes at the Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as World and European Championships. Submissions are possible at any time, as the program operates without a fixed deadline. The program expressly supports measures that create sustainable structures in club sports and provide long-term perspectives for young talent.
