Description

The ethnic group-specific funding in Carinthia aims to sustainably support projects and events related to the Slovenian ethnic group and thus enrich the coexistence of majority and minority. The focus is particularly on initiatives in the fields of social cohesion/democracy, culture, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media. The grant enables both the organization and implementation of encounter formats as well as publications and acquisitions, for example for equipping cultural initiatives or publishing printed works. At the same time, the measure encourages innovative concepts that promote dialogue and make the identity of the Slovenian community visible.

Eligible to apply are natural persons of the Slovenian ethnic group in Carinthia. There is no formal deadline framework: applicants may submit their documents at any time. Required are a subsidy application with a financing plan as well as a formal subsidy declaration with funding commitment. Eligible expenses include project and event costs, publication costs, and acquisition costs for materials or equipment. After approval, a verification of receipts and cancellation of the original invoices to the extent of the granted funding will take place; a final report on the use of funds must be submitted within the deadline. The legal basis is the General Guideline for Subsidies from State Funds. The funding is administered by Department 1 – State Office Directorate of the Carinthian State Government, which offers applicants individual advice and support.
