Description

The funding program is aimed at rescue service organizations recognized by the State of Styria, hospital operators and companies, as well as institutions of mountain rescue, water rescue, rescue dog brigades, and cave rescue. It enables support for ground-based emergency medical services and air rescue services as well as specialized mountain and cave rescue units. As direct grants, this funding relieves non-profit organizations and public institutions of investment and operating costs to ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage and rapid operational readiness. Applications can be submitted continuously; formal recognition in accordance with the Styrian Rescue Service Act or a contractual agreement with the State of Styria constitutes the central prerequisite for the grant.

The program's objective is to sustainably strengthen capacity and technical resources in disaster protection as well as in social healthcare. Performance records including original invoices are reviewed, and access to the emergency database of the Coordination Center for Emergency and Disaster Medicine serves transparent processing. With this funding, the State of Styria pursues the overarching goal of ensuring the population's care in medical emergencies, severe weather events, and terrain operations, and continuously improving the quality of operations.
