Description

Regional Funding in Vienna – This funding initiative is aimed at qualified private individuals (psychologists, psychotherapists, music therapists) with additional training or a professional focus on children and adolescents. The focus is on clinical-psychological, health-psychological, psychotherapeutic, as well as music-therapeutic counseling and treatments. The grant ensures free, uncomplicated, and low-threshold access to professional support for burdened young people who have an increased need for assistance due to multiple crises (war, energy crisis, inflation, climate crisis, COVID-19). Eligible expenses include all services within these disciplines. The project duration extends from 03.04.2023 to 31.03.2027. A prerequisite for funding is proof of professional practice in accordance with the Psychology or Psychotherapy Act, compliance with mandatory reporting obligations, and submission of the completed application form. Applications can be submitted at any time within the funding period, with appropriate documents such as proof of qualifications and reports to be attached as needed.

Funding Objective and Impact – The goal is to secure and restore the mental health of children and adolescents through timely access to counseling and treatment in various settings. The funds are administered by the Professional Association of Austrian Psychologists (BÖP) in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Association for Psychotherapy. An evaluation assesses the achievement of objectives based on established indicators, while risk-based controls validate that federal funds are used economically and for their intended purpose. The funding contributes to strengthening the common good by supporting vulnerable target groups and preventing secondary mental illnesses preventively. Potential applicants benefit from the free and hybrid service structure (online, telephone, in-person) and thus contribute to public welfare in the health and social sectors.
