Description
Women in Volunteering is a funding program of the Ministry for Family, Women, Culture and Integration of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate that supports measures for the training and qualification of women engaged in voluntary work. The program offers material cost subsidies to improve the framework conditions in volunteering, aiming to promote the compatibility of career, family, and voluntary activities and to strengthen the employment prospects of the participants. In addition to seminars, workshops, and training events, fees for speakers, travel expenses, room rentals, technical costs, as well as childcare costs can be subsidized. The funding amount is up to €1,300 per measure, whereby a personal contribution of at least 10% of the eligible costs must be demonstrated by the applying non-profit organizations.
Within the scope of the funding, diverse qualification measures are supported that enhance not only professional expertise but also organizational and communication skills. Topics such as rhetoric, event organization, public relations, as well as specific training in tax, liability, and insurance regulations play an important role. This enables volunteers to coordinate their tasks more effectively and thus be prepared for both internal and external challenges. Through targeted support, the program also improves the participation of women in voluntary leadership bodies and promotes the gender mainstreaming approach in various social sectors. Subsidies can be applied for individual measures or series of events, with each event considered as an independent unit.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and should ideally be submitted at least two months before the start of the project. In addition to a detailed cost and financing plan, a well-founded concept description must be submitted to demonstrate the feasibility of the project. The funding is aimed at women engaged in voluntary work who are active in associations, clubs, self-help groups, or other organizations or offer corresponding measures – projects of individual political parties are excluded. Through this targeted support, volunteering is sustainably strengthened by improving the framework conditions and creating prospects for future employment. Overall, the program offers an excellent opportunity to significantly enhance the qualification and effectiveness of women in volunteering in Rhineland-Palatinate.
