Description

The Gioiadivita Foundation invites young people aged 16 to 26 to participate in a voluntary internship on its 42,000 m² site in southern Italy. From May to mid-November, participants support the development of the Life School with 4–6 hours of practical work daily. Under expert guidance, they can engage in areas such as organic vegetable gardening, olive and fig harvesting, timber construction, or gastronomy, thereby making a direct contribution to the community project. Accommodation is provided in wooden huts or wooden caravans; a full catering service is available for a cost contribution of €10 per day. Travel expenses must be borne by the participants themselves, with exceptions for EU-funded interns. Upon successful completion, the foundation issues an official internship certificate.

This program is aimed at adolescents and young adults who wish to gain practical experience in an international community and have an interest in sustainable, community-oriented work. Through living and working together in a rural environment, participants develop intercultural skills, teamwork, and personal responsibility. The role as an active member on site not only enables personal growth but also offers the opportunity to experience southern Italian culture and traditions. Flexible start dates and a straightforward application process by arrangement provide room for individual planning and participation. The continuation of the Life School’s core idea is central to the program, creating a unique framework for environmental learning and social engagement.
