Description

The Voluntary Social Year in School Childcare (SBOV) in Vorarlberg is aimed at young adults within the framework of social career orientation who wish to gain initial pedagogical experience. Publicly funded institutions, especially primary schools, can apply as placement sites – however, the number of available positions is limited and a written application is required. Participants receive a monthly allowance as well as a climate ticket, which is financed through federal funds. During the placement, accident, health, and pension insurance are provided, ensuring optimal protection for the volunteers. The administration and financing of the project are carried out in cooperation between the State of Vorarlberg and Soziale Berufsorientierung Vorarlberg GmbH, with an annual state contribution allocated for implementation.

With an ongoing application deadline, this program offers a flexible entry opportunity without fixed registration deadlines. The goal is to provide young people with practical insights into school childcare and thereby create professional orientation for a potential pedagogical career. The Department IIa Early Childhood Education, School and Society within the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government oversees the conception and implementation to ensure the quality of care and to expand family-friendly offerings. This funding program not only strengthens the personal and professional development of the volunteers but also makes a valuable contribution to supporting the educational location of Vorarlberg.
