Description
The funding in Vorarlberg is aimed at developers as well as private and commercial owners of multi-family houses with at least six units. The goal is to create barrier-free, above-ground communal spaces as places of experience for young and old, which are visually highlighted and equipped with functional connections to the outdoor area. For up to 80 m² of usable space, a non-repayable grant of € 900.00 per m² is granted. Eligible costs include construction expenses, furnishing measures such as flexible furniture and kitchenettes, as well as the adaptation of sanitary facilities to the needs of people with disabilities. A participatively developed usage and care concept, as well as a heated room with barrier-free WC, TV, and electrical connections, are mandatory prerequisites.
Applicants must submit a fully completed application by no later than 31.12.2026. In addition to the form “Playgrounds and communal areas in residential complexes,” invoice receipts with proof of payment, a binding proof of commissioning by 15.07.2025, a detailed construction and execution plan as a PDF, photos of the completed measures, and a detailed list of the implemented works must be provided. Payment will be made no later than one year after completion of the construction work. For projects with more than 25 residential units, a neighborhood analysis in coordination with the respective municipality is also required. This creates a lively meeting place that strengthens the neighborhood and promotes intergenerational encounters.
