Business Revitalization

The Vienna Business Agency supports investments in street-facing commercial premises on the ground floor of the federal capital that have been vacant for at least three months through the Business Revitalization program. The aim of this support is to revitalize Vienna’s retail sector and strengthen local SMEs and associations: a flat-rate grant of up to €35,000 with a funding rate of 50% significantly reduces modernization and furnishing costs. The measure targets small and medium-sized enterprises based in Vienna as well as interest groups or other associations that wish to contribute to the revitalization of urban shopping streets. Projects in the fields of urban development, regional promotion, and infrastructure benefit just as much as initiatives from the agricultural sector as well as consulting and business financing measures.

Applications can be submitted during the funding period from March 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026. A prerequisite for approval, in addition to the minimum vacancy period, is an investment in street-facing retail space on the ground floor. The generous funding amount enables project managers to rethink spatial concepts and create an appealing shopping atmosphere.
