Description

The modular funding program supports companies, interest groups, as well as associations and religious institutions throughout Austria in investments in commercial heating and cooling supply systems, networks, and microgrids. The goal is decarbonization and efficiency improvement through the use of renewable energy sources or waste heat. Both the construction and expansion of climate-friendly generation and distribution networks as well as optimization measures for existing systems are funded. Applications can be submitted continuously from 01.07.2024 onwards. Funding requirements include, among others, submitting the application prior to the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction; for investment volumes exceeding €500,000, a report from the lending institution must be attached. Required documents include a technical data sheet with a detailed cost breakdown and, if applicable, the lending institution’s report.

The offering is divided into four modules: Module 1 funds heating and cooling generation systems for feeding into highly efficient networks, Module 2 the new construction and expansion of heating and cooling networks, Module 3 internal company microgrids with and without heat sales, and Module 4 measures for optimizing and decarbonizing existing generators and distribution networks. Applications are submitted online via the KPC portal “Meine Förderung.” Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH accompanies the entire process from application submission to disbursement, reviews the documents, and prepares a funding proposal. This modular structure provides applicants with targeted support to sustainably retrofit their heating and cooling supply and design it in a climate-friendly manner.
