Description
Heimathafen – For More Togetherness in Old Age is aimed at non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and initiatives in Hamburg that wish to implement projects supporting elderly people in their neighborhoods. As a continuously available thematic fund of the BürgerStiftung Hamburg, the grant supports practical initiatives that accompany seniors in their daily lives, enable intergenerational encounters, and strengthen digital participation. Special attention is given to services for people with dementia and their relatives. The fund covers both material and personnel costs and supports projects in all Hamburg districts that ensure low-threshold access as well as inclusive and barrier-free implementation. Applicants should demonstrate a structured project setup, qualified management, and good accessibility to the target groups.
The thematic fund aims to promote a self-determined and dignified life in the living environment of older generations and to strengthen social cohesion in the neighborhoods. Supported initiatives include, among others, visiting services and neighborhood assistance, creative formats for young and old, training for digital participation, and relief services for caregiving relatives. Projects are evaluated based on clear criteria: professionalism of project management, logical structure of the concept, and good access for the target group. Currently, no applications can be submitted; however, interested actors can inform themselves early via the BürgerStiftung Hamburg website and register for upcoming application periods. Comprehensive advice at the Engagement Dock supports optimal preparation of one’s own project proposal.
