Description
The state funding "Assistance for Residential Care" in Tyrol supports individuals in need of care whose own income does not fully cover the costs of a nursing home. Subject to certain conditions, the state of Tyrol covers 100% of the difference between the individual’s income and the actual accommodation and care costs. Funding is provided to persons with Austrian citizenship or equivalent status, who have their main residence in Tyrol and can demonstrate both a need for care and financial hardship. Applications can be submitted continuously and may be filed from the day of admission to a residential facility. Retroactive crediting of benefits is excluded if the application is not submitted within the first months after admission.
For a successful application, in addition to the completed form "Application for Granting Assistance for Residential Care," a variety of personal documents are required. These include registration certificates or ZMR extracts, care allowance decisions, power of attorney or adult representation proof, as well as comprehensive documentation of assets and income (bank statements, securities account statements, building savings contracts, rental and lease agreements, etc.). This documentation ensures a transparent assessment of financial need and accelerates the funding process. The Care Department of the Tyrolean State Government is responsible for the review and further consultation. This funding provides financial relief that facilitates access to residential care facilities and sustainably alleviates care-related hardships.
