Description

The funding initiative “Hospice Culture and Palliative Care in Nursing Homes – HPCPH” aims to establish holistic support for people in their final phase of life within nursing facilities in Tyrol. Non-profit organizations can apply for financial grants over a two-year project period to sustainably embed hospice culture from the admission of residents to their farewell. By involving volunteer supporters and professionally strengthening the nursing staff, the quality of palliative care is enhanced. The continuous collaboration of all parties involved – from relatives and general practitioners to pastoral care and nutrition specialists – promotes a dignified living environment and improves communication processes within the facility.

Non-profit providers must initiate an organizational and quality development process that trains at least 80% of the staff in coordinated workshops on palliative geriatrics. The appointment of two palliative care officers and the establishment of a permanent palliative care group within the facility ensure the sustainable integration of the project’s content. Awareness-raising, consciousness-building, and professional development regarding hospice culture and palliative care run as a consistent thread throughout the entire 24-month project duration. Applications are possible from 01.01.2022 until the funding volume is exhausted and are explicitly aimed at non-profit organizations in the state of Tyrol.
