Description

The coordinated EU-wide call HORIZON-CL6-2027-02-FARM2FORK-04 supports the systematic research and optimization of data collection in organic farming. The objective is a comprehensive mapping of existing tools and methods as well as their interoperability, in order to reduce the administrative burden for organically managed agricultural holdings and value chain actors. With a total funding amount of €6 million, project outlines based on the multi-actor approach are supported, involving actors from at least three EU Member States and promoting the priorities of the EU Organic Action Plan as well as the EU vision for agriculture and food. Eligible costs include personnel, travel, and material expenses for training and stakeholder events, while investments in production facilities are excluded. Eligible applicants are educational institutions, companies, non-profit and public organizations, particularly research institutions, authorities, as well as actors in the organic value chain (e.g., certification bodies, processing companies). Applications must be submitted by 23 September 2027 via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.

Planned activities include mutual exchange of experience between Member States, evaluation of existing data sources and interoperability standards, as well as awareness-raising and training measures for farmers and value chain actors. Submission documents must include a detailed budget, Part B of the project description, a detailed budget plan, and an ethics self-assessment. Evaluation will be based on the criteria of Excellence, Impact, and Quality and Efficiency of Implementation. 100% of eligible costs will be funded; the maximum project duration starts from 20 April 2027. By bridging existing data gaps and expanding interoperable tools, the performance capacity of organic farming for greater sustainability in Europe is to be significantly strengthened.
