Description

The funding initiative of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking aims to further strengthen Europe’s leading position in the fields of high-performance computing and quantum computing. It provides companies, universities, and research institutions from all EU member states access to powerful supercomputers and supports projects with grants for research, infrastructure measures, and the development of a digital ecosystem. At its core is the establishment of a secure, connected, and Europe-wide coordinated HPC ecosystem, ranging from the development of innovative applications to the enhancement of professional competencies in science and industry. All stakeholders – from subject matter experts to early-career researchers – are involved to build a demand- and user-oriented infrastructure along a stable supply chain.

The funding initiative continuously issues calls for project proposals, which are submitted in two stages: initially, a project outline is submitted in English, followed by a detailed application. Eligible applicants are legal entities with headquarters or establishments in a participating EU state that intend to implement projects in the areas of high-performance computing or quantum computing. The grants cover, among other things, costs for computing time, hardware expansions, and the operation of service and data infrastructures. The funding fosters synergies between public and private users that drive digital transformation and secure Europe’s technological sovereignty. Current deadlines and further information are published on the EuroHPC JU website.
