Promotion of high-quality continuing education in specialized hospice and palliative care in Tyrol, in order to establish a culture of life and dying in hospitals, nursing homes, and mobile care and support services that improves the quality of life of clients and increases the motivation of care staff.

Description
The interprofessional basic palliative care course at Level I and II provides professionals from hospitals, nursing homes, as well as mobile care and support services with a solid knowledge base for the care of people with incurable diseases and those who are dying. Through practice-oriented modules, medical, nursing, and psychosocial perspectives are closely linked to ensure comprehensive and dignified end-of-life care. The training promotes a cooperative culture of life and dying throughout Tyrol and strengthens the motivation and satisfaction of the personnel involved. This program noticeably improves the quality of life of clients by focusing on individual needs and systematically integrating the social network.
Both private individuals and public institutions are eligible for funding. The grant covers the full training costs, provided the application is submitted no later than two weeks after the course start date. Documents such as proof of active employment, the registration confirmation from the training institute including a cost breakdown, payment receipts from the institution, as well as any existing commitments of other funding must be attached. Funds are continuously available until the budget is exhausted. With the support of the State of Tyrol, high-quality hospice and palliative care is promoted, making a sustainable contribution to strengthening health and social competencies in the region.
