Description

The Interrail Ticket Funding Program enables young people from Burgenland aged 12 to 27 to discover Europe by train by reimbursing 50% of the paid Interrail ticket price. As a one-time grant, it is available year-round and promotes mobility, intercultural encounters, and personal development. Applications must be submitted online no later than six months after the end of the trip. This ensures that travel documents and payment receipts are submitted promptly and travel experiences are documented.

Eligible to participate are all youths and young adults who can prove their main or permissible secondary residence in Burgenland and who possess a BSpecial Card from the State Youth Department or apply for it simultaneously with the application. The following documents are required for the application: the Interrail ticket with proof of payment, a brief itinerary, the BSpecial Card, and tour photos for publication. The funding amount is a flat 50% of the verified costs, up to a maximum corresponding to the purchased ticket price. With this support, the State of Burgenland promotes education, social participation, and cross-border experiences, thereby sending a strong signal for youth promotion in the areas of education, work & social affairs, as well as vocational training and further education.
