Annual Award "That Was Top!"

The annual award "That Was Top!" from the Pfadfinden Foundation honors outstanding scouting initiatives from across Germany that have previously been supported by the foundation. As recognition for exceptional achievements in the fields of nature and environmental protection as well as community work, nominated and awarded local groups receive a certificate and a cash prize. The program is exclusively aimed at non-profit interest groups or associations that demonstrate extraordinary voluntary commitment to social cohesion. This award is intended not only to honor the recipients but also to provide inspiration to other groups to initiate similar projects and strengthen communal togetherness.

The selection takes place annually through a two-stage process: first, the foundation’s board nominates five particularly remarkable projects that meet the funding criteria. Subsequently, the advisory board determines the winners at its meeting, who are usually honored during public events such as federal assemblies or large camps. Evaluation criteria include, in addition to outstanding project performance, the recommendation by the foundation’s board. Through this structured awarding process, the Pfadfinden Foundation specifically supports the visibility and sustainability of scouting activities and motivates the further development of creative ideas.
