Description
The Renewable Energies “Standard” program of the KfW Banking Group offers nationwide low-interest financing options for the expansion of renewable energy systems. Interested parties – ranging from private individuals and non-profit organizations to companies and public institutions – can receive a loan for the construction, expansion, or acquisition of photovoltaic, wind, hydro, and biogas plants, as well as for heating/cooling networks, storage systems, and digitization measures. Up to 100% of eligible expenses can be covered, with a maximum of €150 million per project. The terms and conditions are determined individually by the financing partner and depend on location, creditworthiness, and collateral.
A prerequisite for support is the compatibility of the project with the KfW exclusion list as well as compliance with environmental and social standards in the investment country. Additionally, the requirements of the Renewable Energy Sources Act must be met, and feed-in quotas must be demonstrated for natural persons or non-profit institutions. An application must be submitted before the start of the project through a financing partner; the commercial confirmation of the application (gBzA) is required. Thanks to the ongoing funding availability and compatibility with other public funds, long-term planning is supported and the path to a climate-friendly energy supply is effectively paved.
