Description
The funding program Kickstart Klima is aimed at non-profit organizations in Baden-Württemberg that wish to implement local climate protection projects. With a generous material cost subsidy of up to €6,000, civil society initiatives are supported in the implementation of concrete climate protection measures. The offer includes a wide range of activities – from tree planting campaigns to measures for reducing CO₂ emissions to the expansion of renewable energies. There is considerable scope for design, allowing projects to be tailored specifically to the needs of local people. Furthermore, the program allows for accompanying measures such as dialogue events or external consulting services to be included in the project plan to strengthen the sustainability of the initiatives.
The funding is directed at citizens, working groups, associations, or organizations engaged in climate protection, environmental, and nature conservation. A prerequisite for funding is a detailed description of the project proposal as well as a transparent cost and financing plan. In addition, confirmation from the municipality must be provided, verifying the project’s orientation towards the common good. The project duration is set at six months, with only costs incurred after approval being eligible for funding. Consulting services that contribute to the further development and consolidation of the project can also be utilized, subject to a maximum daily rate of €600 (plus VAT). This support is intended to help advance the implementation of innovative and locally anchored climate protection concepts.
The program is open to civil society actors who want to make concrete contributions to tackling climate change with their ideas. The financial grant can, for example, be used for purchases, material costs, public relations, or fees – always directly related to the project content. In addition to practical support, Kickstart Klima also offers the opportunity to involve external expertise to sustainably anchor and further develop projects. With a flexible application process that is continuously open, the initiative offers diverse opportunities to implement innovative climate protection projects in a structured and targeted manner. This makes a significant contribution to promoting local initiatives and to the sustainable shaping of future environmental management in Baden-Württemberg.
