Description

The KITA21 award procedure of the S.O.F. Environmental Foundation is aimed at daycare centers nationwide that wish to deepen education for sustainable development and environmentally oriented actions in everyday daycare life. As a qualification and award program, it enables sponsors, management, and specialist staff to systematically further develop their educational setting and sustainably anchor resource-conserving practices. In an ongoing application process, the institutions are accompanied and recognized based on clearly defined evaluation criteria – fulfillment of ESD requirements and demonstrable commitment in everyday daycare operations. Eligible participants are non-profit and public institutions as well as educational establishments that want to take responsibility for early childhood education and environmental awareness.

With KITA21, the S.O.F. Environmental Foundation promotes a practice-oriented approach to improving energy efficiency, climate protection, and nature conservation in early childhood education. The award, presented as a prize, honors successful concepts and motivates continuous quality development. Educational professionals and consultants benefit from free training sessions, webinars, and practical modules that offer individualized support. Through nationwide networking, participating institutions gain inspiration for new project ideas and sustainable actions. The program is open at all times; applications can be submitted continuously, allowing daycare centers to flexibly and independently demonstrate their commitment to future-oriented education without fixed deadlines.
