Description
The Climate Protection Apprenticeship Training Premium supports Viennese training companies in newly recruiting and properly training apprentices in particularly climate-relevant professions. The goal is to increase the number of qualified skilled workers in the mid-level training segment of the city of Vienna and to advance climate protection. Funding is provided to companies with a registered office or place of business in Vienna that recruit apprentices under 18 years of age in the first or second year of apprenticeship and commit to the "Vienna Climate Apprenticeship Training Initiative" by signing the declaration of support. Special recognition is given to the hiring of female apprentices: a bonus of €1,000 is available for each newly recruited female apprentice.
The premium includes a subsidy for the apprentice’s income of €1,100 per month for a maximum of nine months in the first year, or €1,500 per month for a maximum of ten months in the second year of apprenticeship. Funding applications can be submitted no later than three months after the probationary period ends. This requires the submission of the fully completed application form, the signed declaration of support, as well as the commitment declaration including the de minimis declaration and confirmation of the valid apprenticeship relationship. Payment is made in two installments upon proof of the paid apprentice incomes. Funding is granted until 31.12.2025, with project start possible from 01.09.2024. Through this measure, Vienna makes an important contribution to securing skilled labor and achieving climate neutrality by 2040.
