SME Action Programs WIFI/BMWET

The SME Action Programs WIFI/BMWET are an initiative jointly offered by the Austrian Institute for Economic Promotion (WIFI) and the Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism (BMWET) to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vienna. Within the framework of this ongoing funding measure, co-financing of selected action programs is provided as a non-repayable grant. Available without time limitation since May 1, 2011, this program supports the development of innovation projects, training measures, and consulting services to sustainably enhance the performance of Austrian SMEs. The goal is to realize tailored solutions for entrepreneurial challenges through coordinated partnerships between BMWET and WIFI Austria, thereby making a measurable contribution to regional value creation.

Austrian SMEs that jointly develop a coordinated action program with the involved experts and have it fully financed by BMWET and WIFI Austria are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline, allowing companies to respond flexibly to funding opportunities. In addition to pure financial support, participants benefit from comprehensive consulting services in the areas of corporate financing and strategic business optimization. The funding requirements include the formal coordination of the program between the funding bodies as well as ensuring full financing. By combining state funding with practice-oriented WIFI training, a holistic funding approach is created that aims at sustainable growth impulses. Interested companies can obtain detailed information about the programs through the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the SME department of BMWET and promptly initiate an application submission.
