Maintaining Contact – Promoting Bavarian-Israeli Encounters

The funding program “Staying Connected – Bavarian-Israeli Encounters” is aimed at educational institutions, non-profit, and public organizations based in Bavaria that wish to implement youth and professional exchanges together with partners in Israel. With a maximum grant of up to €5,000 per project, the Foundation for the Promotion of International Youth Exchange in Bavaria supports initiatives that focus on reciprocity and sustainable relationship-building between both regions. Funding is particularly provided for exchange formats involving schools, youth organizations, as well as professionals such as teachers, youth social workers, and educational specialists. The goal is to enable encounters that promote understanding, strengthen democratic values, and revitalize long-term cooperation between Bavaria and Israel.

Eligible to apply are organizations with a Bavarian headquarters that can demonstrate a partnership with an Israeli institution and embed a clear “reciprocal character” in the project concept. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, with a 100% funding rate covering full costs up to the maximum amount. Selection criteria focus on the sustainability of the encounters, balance between both sides, and the quality of the professional exchange. Required are a detailed project description, a financing plan, and confirmation of the partnership. Through this funding, young people and professionals are empowered to gain cross-border experiences and further deepen the intercultural dialogue between Bavaria and Israel.
