Cooperation/Offers for Building Groups – Construction of Subsidized Housing in the Communal Housing Project

The Villa ganZ Dicke-Osmers Foundation supports cooperative housing projects in Lower Saxony by providing building groups with a leasehold plot in the Hannover-Bemerode/Kronsberg district and constructing social and subsidized housing there. These units are permanently allocated at affordable rental conditions to low-income individuals holding a housing entitlement certificate. The foundation’s objective is the development of intergenerational, alternative-neighborhood housing forms that enable social participation and diverse communities. Project implementation will commence no earlier than January 1, 2026, with financial contributions provided in the form of grants. Continuous application submissions are possible, as expressions of interest are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Building groups interested in a communal housing concept may express their interest at any time and must submit the following documentation: building group concept, detailed project planning, financing plan and profitability calculation, information on the number and size of the planned apartments, and proof of equity contribution. Funding opportunities are particularly aimed at building groups that embrace inclusivity and intergenerational living, as well as single parents, single older and younger individuals, and persons with a migration background. Upon successful selection, the foundation assumes ownership of the subsidized apartments, while the building group is involved with participatory rights in selecting future tenants. This model creates affordable housing and promotes sustainable neighborhoods with social added value.
