Description
The funding program "Noise Protection Measures for State Roads B+L" in Carinthia supports both active and passive noise protection measures along the regional road network. Funding is provided for the construction of noise barriers as well as the installation of sound-insulating windows in permanently used living and sleeping rooms. Eligible applicants include private individuals and public institutions, specifically owners, property management companies, or tenants with the consent of the owners. A prerequisite for funding is a proven exceedance of noise limit values of 60 dB(A) during the day-evening-night period or 50 dB(A) at night, as well as a building age of at least 15 years, documented by a building permit or purchase contract. Noise exposure is determined using a standardized calculation model, with on-site measurements being optional. The funding is provided as a grant and can be applied for continuously, as there is no deadline.
Eligible costs include material and installation expenses for noise protection windows and walls. The application must include a site plan indicating window and door positions, appropriate documentation (e.g., purchase or rental contract, building permit), and a detailed cost estimate with measurements and reference to the site plan. The final accounting of the measure must be completed within twelve months after approval. The responsible funding authority is the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department 9 – Roads and Bridges. The objective is to secure the quality of life in noise-affected areas in the long term and to improve the environment of residents along the state roads in an ecologically and socially sustainable manner.
