Description

The long-term initiative of the Jemal Nebez Foundation in Berlin is dedicated to the comprehensive preservation and development of the scientific and journalistic estate of Jemal Nebez. In a multi-stage process, the collections are first systematically organized, cataloged, and subsequently digitized using OCR technology. In parallel, a detailed finding aid is created, serving as a central guide. Upon completion of these steps, the materials will be published both online and in printed form—with the aim of permanently preserving the multifaceted life’s work of Jemal Nebez and making it accessible to a broad public. The project creates valuable foundations for research and contributes to the digitization of cultural heritage in the fields of culture & media, research & innovation, and science.

Participants can register at any time and support the project through voluntary work or donations. Targeted are linguistically skilled translators, students and early-career professionals, archive experts, as well as researchers who already have experience in translation, meticulous and precise work, or organizational skills. To apply, the completed form “D_Fördermitglied_werden.pdf” is sufficient, which serves as the basis for joining the team. The initiative offers flexible participation options on-site in Berlin or remotely via the internet. Through the combination of practical archival work, modern digital technology, and targeted publication, a unique field of engagement is created for all those who wish to carry forward cultural heritage.
