Description

The Salzburg State Food Local Supply Program supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the Salzburg region in maintaining, strengthening, as well as founding and taking over local supply businesses with a complete range of food products. The goal is to secure and improve the local supply of food and daily necessities for the resident population. Investment and working capital loans as well as innovative projects and marketing and consulting concepts are funded. The program runs until December 31, 2026; applications can be submitted up to six months after the start of the measure.

Eligible for funding are companies of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce from the committees "Food Retail," "Bakers," or "Butchers" with an annual turnover of up to EUR 5 million, a sales area up to 600 m², and a maximum of ten business locations. The funding rate ranges from 3% to 10%, depending on the measure. Specifically, interest subsidies of 6% p.a. are granted for investment loans up to EUR 200,000 and 3% p.a. for working capital loans up to EUR 90,000. Direct grants cover 10% of eligible investment costs up to EUR 50,000, innovation premiums up to EUR 7,000, and marketing and consulting concepts up to EUR 7,000 and EUR 2,000 respectively. Excluded are, among others, land purchases, leasing or repair costs, as well as projects with eligible expenses under EUR 5,000. Evaluation criteria include the completeness of the assortment, economic independence, contribution to local supply, degree of innovation, and location in underserved areas. Requirements and application documents include, among others, company register extract, annual financial statements, loan commitment, and cost estimates.
