Description

The funding line Learning in Langenhorn of the Joachim Herz Foundation is aimed at public institutions and non-profit organizations in the Hamburg district of Langenhorn. The goal is to actively involve children and young people in educational and sustainability processes. Projects in the context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) are supported in an uncomplicated manner with grants of up to 5,000 euros. The funding period is a maximum of 36 months, during which the total amount must not be exceeded. Priority is given to initiatives that focus on the participation and self-initiative of the target groups, develop creative solutions, and network local actors such as schools, clubs, or other educational venues. Expenses for building services, construction projects, initial furnishing of premises, personal scholarships, and (party-)political or artistically oriented projects are excluded.

Applications can be submitted at any time, provided the project start is planned for the current or following calendar year and the implementation takes place in the Langenhorn district. The selection is based on criteria such as relevance to sustainability, active involvement of participants, and content relevance for ESD. The application must include a three-page project description, a financing plan, and proof of non-profit status. Feedback will be provided within approximately six weeks after submission. The measure strengthens regional educational structures, promotes creative approaches, and helps to inspire Hamburg’s youth for sustainable development locally.
