Description

With the “Literature, Project, and Annual Grants,” the state of Carinthia supports literary creation in all its facets: funding is provided for publication projects, reading series, and literature festivals, as well as for translations, digitization measures, and literary mediation projects. Eligible applicants include natural and legal persons, companies, and non-profit organizations that demonstrate a thematic or local connection to Carinthia. The funding rate amounts to up to 25% of eligible expenses, including personnel, material, printing, and travel costs. Annual programs with recurring literary offerings are considered equally alongside cross-border initiatives or the combination of literature with other artistic forms of expression. Applications can be submitted online at any time—prior to the start of the project and in compliance with the submission deadlines, which are published on the Culture Channel. In addition to a fully completed and signed funding application, a financing plan and a proof of use with an overview of receipts must be submitted.

The selection is based on the criteria of Carinthia relevance, degree of innovation, and quality of concept and implementation. The goal is to sustainably promote cultural and literary diversity in the region and to create new access points. Department 14 – Arts and Culture of the Office of the Carinthian State Government provides applicants with professional advice and ensures a transparent, fair funding process. Once the funding decision has been made, the grant is transferred to the specified account and documented with the project receipts. These funding measures create a vibrant literary space in Carinthia that supports local authors, enables cross-border dialogues, and offers the audience diverse literary experiences.
