Description

The funding program Market Structure Improvement in North Rhine-Westphalia supports producer associations as well as companies involved in the processing and marketing of agricultural products in investments in modern production and marketing capacities. The goal is to increase competitiveness, secure sales opportunities, and create revenue advantages at the producer level. Additionally, the measure promotes innovation potential, reduces climate-damaging emissions, and increases resource efficiency. Funding is provided, among other things, for the new construction and expansion of storage, cooling, or refinement capacities, in-house rationalizations through conversion, modernization, and digitization of technical equipment, as well as start-up costs for producer associations. Special emphasis is placed on measures that align with market requirements and contribute to the sustainable processing of agricultural products.

Eligible for funding are companies and associations or clubs with headquarters and project implementation in North Rhine-Westphalia. Companies must demonstrate a capacity utilization of 40% through supply contracts with producers over a period of at least five years for investment projects; producer associations must ensure predominantly own production on a permanent basis, at least five years. A proven economic concept as well as compliance with European and national environmental regulations are prerequisites. Grants are awarded as one-time subsidies and can be applied for construction and structural measures (commitment period 12 years), technical equipment (5 years), and IT equipment (3 years). Applications can be submitted continuously and are processed by the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection North Rhine-Westphalia (LANUV). Thus, the program makes a central contribution to strengthening regional marketing structures and to climate-friendly agricultural processing.
