Description
The state of Saxony-Anhalt supports projects in the field of political education within the themes of culture, culture & media, and media in Saxony-Anhalt with up to 60% of eligible costs through the grant program Measures of Political Education. The Ministry of Education of the state provides non-repayable grants that, for example, support seminars, workshops, lectures, or media education events. Eligible applicants are legal entities under public law (outside the state administration) as well as private, non-profit institutions with their seat and implementation of the measure in Saxony-Anhalt. Projects promoting democratic thinking, strengthening diversity, and civic engagement are welcomed throughout all regions of the state. Applications can be submitted continuously, but no later than six weeks before the start of the measure, and should include a detailed cost and financing plan.
For a successful application, in addition to a minimum own contribution of 10% of the eligible expenses, proof of non-profit purposes through a tax exemption certificate is also required. Furthermore, measures must be carried out in Saxony-Anhalt, practice parliamentary-representative decision-making based on the free democratic basic order, and involve at least ten participants residing in the state. Funding is provided, among other things, for accommodation, catering, travel, and childcare costs as well as fees for conference facilitators. The application must include a completed grant form, a current budget or business plan, and proof of recognition of party-affiliated foundations or sponsors. With this funding, educational providers benefit from financial relief and increased visibility of their projects to sustainably strengthen democratic coexistence and media-competent citizens in Saxony-Anhalt.
