Description
The Master Plus scholarship of the Claussen-Simon Foundation in Hamburg is aimed at outstanding graduates of all disciplines in Germany. It offers income-independent financial support ranging from €300 to a maximum of €992 per month for up to four semesters. In parallel, Master Plus is ideologically oriented and includes a wide-ranging offer of workshops, national networking meetings, and regional group meetings. The program aims to support students with excellent bachelor’s degrees (grade average of 1.7 or top 10% of their cohort) under the age of 35 to fully dedicate themselves to their full-time, on-campus master’s studies while simultaneously developing personal skills. Extracurricular activities are encouraged and promote the exchange of experiences within the vibrant foundation community.
In addition to living expenses, funding also covers costs for active conference participation both domestically and abroad, as well as grants for academically relevant stays abroad. Awards are granted twice a year with fixed application deadlines: for the summer semester from January 5 to February 1, 2026, and correspondingly for the winter semester. Requirements for application include, among others, a bachelor’s degree with excellent results, proof of admission or application confirmation for the master’s program, a curriculum vitae, a motivation letter, two letters of recommendation, and, if applicable, a German language certificate (at least level B1). The selection process takes into account academic achievements, social engagement, and language skills. Master Plus combines financial security with academic and personal support and continues to offer scholarship holders access to selected foundation events after the funding period ends.
