Description
The Kester-Haeusler Foundation supports innovative research projects in the field of clinical pulmonology in Bavaria by promoting translationally oriented approaches in close cooperation with Ludwig Maximilian University and the German Center for Lung Research. The focus is on interstitial lung diseases, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, lung carcinomas, and lung transplants. By providing grants in collaboration with Medical Clinic V at the Comprehensive Pneumology Center Munich, a unique research environment is created: A modern outpatient research clinic on the Großhadern campus enables continuous exchange between clinicians and basic scientists. Public and educational institutions with established partnerships benefit from the close integration of teaching, patient care, and experimental research.
Medical researchers and university institutions interested in establishing and expanding their project in the field of clinical pulmonology are invited to apply. Funding requirements include proven cooperation with LMU/University Hospital Munich, a clearly defined focus on translational lung research, and a meaningful project plan. Applications can be submitted at any time as part of the continuous call. Selection is based on scientific excellence, translational benefit, and the quality of the cooperation structure. The grant supports both basic studies and clinical investigations to sustainably improve the medical care of patients with severe lung diseases and to advance new therapeutic strategies.
