Description

The EDEKA Foundation is launching a nationwide initiative that inspires primary school students in grades 3 and 4 with hands-on project days focused on balanced nutrition, physical activity, and environmental protection. In age-appropriate modules, the children learn how to compose varied meals, sample healthy snacks, and are playfully motivated to be more active. Through interactive stations such as sensory parcours or mini cooking workshops, they develop personal responsibility for themselves and their environment. Local EDEKA sponsors, independent retailers from the region, accompany the implementation at participating schools, thus creating a lively connection between theory and everyday life. The supplementary lessons not only promote team spirit but also raise awareness of sustainable consumption and the Earth's resources.

Eligible for funding are primary schools with grades 3 and 4 throughout Germany that apply with their educational concept and cooperation with an EDEKA sponsor. Applications are possible from July 1, 2026, and are submitted as part of a sponsorship procedure. The goal is to provide additional nationwide impulses in subject teaching and to support educational institutions in networking nutrition education and sports promotion. Participants benefit from coordinated learning materials, trained project teams, and close support from experts in nutrition, sports science, and environmental education. The initiative complements school curricula with creative practical components and lays the foundation for a conscious and active lifestyle already in primary school age.
