Description

The CULTOPIA Foundation focuses on sustainable housing options for homeless people in North Rhine-Westphalia. With its foundation capital, existing properties in Cologne – including CASA COLONIA piccola I–IV – are purchased and converted into supervised shared apartments. Professional social workers support the residents on their path to independent living, thereby fostering self-help in everyday life. Both individuals and partners from the social sector, including non-profit organizations and public institutions, are supported as they work together on viable concepts for a dignified home. Ongoing endowments and donations enable the continuous expansion of the offerings and secure financing in the form of grants.

Looking to the future, the next flagship project, CASA COLONIA grande, is already in preparation: A new building with up to 30 publicly subsidized, affordable apartments will provide space for various groups – including people affected by homelessness, students, artists, as well as single parents and refugees. This integrative housing model combines social housing with cultural and urban development benefits. The funding is specifically aimed at municipalities, foundations, companies, and private individuals who share the common goal of sustainably combating homelessness. Contributions can be made at any time to promptly realize new, dignified accommodations and to initiate further projects in the long term.
