Motivation Award (German Stroke Foundation)

Every two years, the German Stroke Foundation honors outstanding commitment in the fight against stroke and its consequences with the Motivation Award. Open nationwide, the award is aimed at private individuals from various fields – from those affected to professionals and volunteers. The focus is on the theme of health, complemented by aspects of social cohesion, democracy, as well as work and social affairs. The award recognizes exemplary dedication in education, self-help, and patient care, highlighting projects and initiatives that serve as inspiration to others.

Recipients include stroke survivors who inspire through their personal stories, doctors, therapists, and nursing staff with exceptional professional expertise, as well as volunteers who are highly motivated to support those affected. This award presents shining role models who, through their commitment, raise awareness of prevention and rehabilitation and promote self-help. The jury – composed of experts and relatives – honors projects that pursue innovative approaches in care and contribute to strengthening patients' rights. Through public recognition, these catalysts become visible and help to sustainably enrich the dialogue surrounding stroke-related issues.
