Description

The Investment and Project Funding for Museums in the federal state of Salzburg is aimed at professionally managed museums as well as their sponsoring organizations in the form of non-profit organizations and public institutions. The goal is the targeted support of investment projects and innovative project measures that sustainably strengthen museum operations and the cultural offering. The funding is provided as a grant by the shareholders – the State of Salzburg, the City of Salzburg, and the City of Hallein – with applications able to be submitted at any time, provided the need is reported before inclusion in the state budget.

For the application, a detailed cost calculation, a meaningful project description, and, if applicable, the corresponding form for the funding request must be submitted. Essential requirements include proof of appropriate use of funds and compliance with any funding guidelines. A funding guideline regulates the dates and deadlines, particularly the reporting of additional needs before the preparation of the state budget. After a positive decision, the payment is made as a lump sum or in installments prior to the final usage review. This funding initiative makes a valuable contribution to the further development of the Salzburg museum landscape and creates space for sophisticated exhibition and infrastructure projects.
