Support for museums and archives in Carinthia in contemporary collection presentation, collection maintenance, object preservation, digitization measures, inventory management, scientific research, and special exhibitions, as well as training and further education measures, with the aim of achieving quality preservation and quality development objectives according to the criteria of the Austrian Museum Quality Seal.

Description
The quality initiative "Museums and Archives" of the state of Carinthia supports companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in all regions of Carinthia that operate museums or archives. The goal is the consistent development and preservation of museum collections according to the criteria of the Austrian Museum Quality Seal. Funding is provided for measures related to contemporary collection presentation, maintenance, and object preservation, as well as digitization projects, inventorying, scientific research, and documentation. A particular focus is placed on the conception and implementation of special exhibitions as well as on the training and further education of personnel. Additionally, regional and cross-border cooperations within the Alpine-Adriatic cultural area are supported to promote exchange in the two official languages, German and Slovenian. These initiatives aim to strengthen museums and archives as places of societal discourse and to profile them as cultural tourism destinations.
Applications can be submitted year-round and before the project begins using a fully completed and signed form. A comprehensible financing plan, proof of Carinthian relevance, and compliance with the cultural funding guidelines are prerequisites. The funding amount is based on the scope of the requested measures and the available budget but must not exceed 25% of the total costs. For funding amounts of €30,000 or more, a detailed report on the use of funds, including total income and expenses, must also be submitted. A corresponding reference to the state funding using the "Land Carinthia Art and Culture" logo is mandatory in all publications and promotional materials. The decision on the award is made by the member of the Carinthian state government responsible for arts and culture based on a professional evaluation. This targeted funding ensures the long-term high standard and attractiveness of cultural institutions in Carinthia.
