Description
The Landfried Stiftung GmbH supports talented young musicians from the Heidelberg area with the Music Scholarships for Children of Single Mothers and promotes their access to cost-intensive educational opportunities. Funding covers instrumental lessons, participation in competitions, masterclasses, as well as travel and accommodation expenses. Costs for instrument making and sheet music are also covered. The scholarship amounting to €1,000 per month enables gifted children of single mothers to prepare for entrance exams at music conservatories and minimizes financial barriers. Application documents include a completed funding application, an informal letter of motivation, and a passport photo. Proof of single parent status, residence in the funding area, as well as musical talent and interest must be provided.
Awards are granted on an ongoing basis and are based on the criteria of musical talent and motivation, financial need, and the status of single motherhood. The initiative targets private individuals in Baden-Württemberg whose children would have limited opportunities to develop musically without external support. With this award, Landfried Stiftung GmbH sets a clear focus on equal opportunities in the cultural and social sectors and supports the scholarship recipients throughout the duration with regular feedback and individual counseling. The funding thus makes a sustainable contribution to the musical education of young talents while simultaneously strengthening social cohesion.
