Saxon Nature Conservation Fund

The Saxony Nature Conservation Fund continuously supports a variety of projects in the fields of environmental, climate, and animal protection as well as landscape management within the Free State. With the clear objective of sustainably preserving nature and landscape, this fund serves as an important instrument to strengthen environmental awareness in science, education, and the public. The funding program is aimed at non-profit organizations, private individuals, and public institutions authorized to implement innovative and sustainable measures, such as water body restorations, biotope protections, or projects to improve landscape structure. Eligible expenses include construction and investment costs, personnel expenses, and various material costs, with the granted funding covering between 80% and 90% of the eligible costs.

The funding is provided as a grant and is ongoing, allowing applications to be submitted at any time. The decision on funding eligibility is based on strict evaluation criteria, which consider the necessity and appropriateness of the project, the spatial relation to the intervention site, secured overall financing, and the long-term sustainability of the measure. Additionally, applicants must submit comprehensive documentation, including the relevant application form, proof of overall financing, cadastral map excerpts, consent from the landowner, as well as other required permits to ensure prompt and proper processing.

The funding concept of the Saxony Nature Conservation Fund focuses on innovative and future-oriented projects that make an immediate contribution to preserving the natural basis of life.
